Does God exist? Some proofs of God’s Existence
The existence
of God is a concept that has been debated throughout human history by
philosophers, theologians, and scientists. The belief in the existence of a
higher power or deity, often referred to as God, varies greatly among different
cultures and religions. Some people believe in the existence of a single,
all-powerful God while others believe in multiple deities or that the concept
of God is not necessary to explain the existence of the universe. There is no
scientific evidence to prove or disprove the existence of God, and ultimately,
belief in God is a matter of faith.
We can never prove or disprove the existence of God because the Bible tells
us that we must accept the truth of God's existence by faith. Hebrews 11:6 says that God can be pleased only by faith. If God wanted,
He could have given proof of His existence to the whole world. But he did not
do that. If we had done that, perhaps we would not even need faith. Jesus said,
"Because you have seen me, you have believed in me. Blessed is those who have not seen me and yet believe" (John 20:29). God
exists. The Bible says, “The heavens describe the glory of God. And the
constellations proclaim the skill of his hands. Every day they converse, and
every night they display knowledge. There is no speech, no language, where
their voice is not heard. The whole earth is resounding with their sound, their
words have reached the borders of the earth. He has made an abode of the sun in the sky”. (Psalm 19:1-4).
When we look at the stars, there is His work, when we understand the vast
universe, we understand His knowledge, when we observe nature, we see His
creative work, when we look at the beauty of the sun, we see His beauty, so all
these things show that God is the Creator. And there is evidence of God's
presence in our own hearts because, according to Ecclesiastes 3:11,
He has also placed eternity in the hearts of men. The depth of our hearts shows
that there is a spiritual world beyond this life. Intellectually, we may deny
this knowledge, but I always believe that the presence of God always resides
within us. Still, many people deny the existence of God, but the Bible says
that only fools do such things, not other people. When people throughout
history believe in some form of God's existence, why shouldn't we? Which we
have felt and experienced God. Therefore, people fully believe in the existence
of God.
There are some biblical evidence and arguments regarding the
existence of God.
1. Sattvavidhya is logical.
Sattvavidhya argument is the most popular and popular one that basically
argues for God's existence. It begins with the definition of God as
"nothing greater than Himself has been created." It argues that
existence is greater than non-existence. And so, the greatest imagination is to
exist. They say that if God did not exist, God would not be the greatest
imaginable being and this would negate the definition of God.
2. It is a scientific argument.
According to Shastriatarka, the great and wonderful creation of the whole
world demonstrates the structure, this logic says that surely it must be a
divine creation. For example, if the Earth had been further or closer to the
Sun, it would not have been possible for life to exist continuously as life
exists on Earth now. If only a few percent of the elements in the atmosphere
were to decrease, all living animals and plants would die.
3. The universe is a Science.
This logic says that every effect must have a cause. This world and everything
in it is the results. There must be a cause that brought everything into being.
Ultimately, a “causeless” order caused everything to come into existence. It
says that God is the "causeless" cause.
4. It is a moral argument.
Every culture in history has had some type of system. Every person has a knowledge of good and evil. For example, immoral acts like killing, lying, and stealing are generally rejected throughout the world. If the knowledge of good and evil did not come from the Holy God, where did this knowledge come from? That is why the Bible says that "because they exchanged the truth of God for a lie and forsook the eternal Creator and worshiped and served created things". Romans 1:25. The Bible also declares that people have no excuse for not believing in God, "His invisible qualities, that is, His eternal power and divine nature, have been seen in all things made from the creation of the world. Therefore, they have no excuse" (Romans 1:20).
Sometimes people deny the existence of God because it is "not
scientific" or "because it is not authentic." But the truth is
that when people accept that there is God, they must also understand that they
are accountable to God and need forgiveness of sins (Romans 3:23,
6:23). If God exists, then we should give an account of
our actions to God. If God does not exist, then we can do whatever we want with
confidence and without fear, because we do not care about God's judgment. That
is why the theory of evolution is strongly held by the people of our society,
which provides another alternative for people who do not believe in God. But God
exists and, in the end, everyone knows that He exists. The truth is that many
people try to prove that God does not exist, but this is actually the biggest and
strongest proof that God exists.
How do we know that God exists? As believers, we know that God exists
because we communicate with him every day. We cannot hear Him audibly, but we
can feel His presence, we can feel Him leading us, we can know His love, we
desire His grace, and many events happen in our lives that no one but God can
explain. Can't God miraculously save us and change our lives, we cannot
help God, but we can thank and praise His existence. The above arguments do not
force those people who deny the direct and the true facts to accept the existence
of God. Finally, the existence of God must be accepted by faith alone (Hebrews 11:6). Believing in God is not a leap into the dark, but a safe
step into a bright room where most of the multitude already exists.
